How technology includes in our education?

Hi I am Heidi! Welcome to my blog! I think no one will doubt the usefulness and importance of using technology nowadays. It seems that people cannot live without technology. However, when the world keep changing and developing, is technology also transforming education? Will technology has any impacts on the future educational world? This should be an interesting topic.

The pace of technology is accelerating. I interviewed my parents what is the situation in their age. They said that computers were not common at that time. My father told me that his first encounter to the computer is around 25. The computers were extremely expensive, so nearly none of his classmates can has one in their home. In the past, they only went to the classroom and study in front of the blackboard. The teacher lectures from a podium at the front of the room while the students sit in rows and listen. But when it came to my age, the case was totally different. When I was in primary school, there was a desktop computer situated in every classroom. Teachers would show us some videos, pictures and E-books during the classes. I like this learning style so much because it is far more interesting and interactive than the traditional learning method. When I went to high school, we started to hand in different assignments though internet. I’ve tried to make my own website, edit video for English lesson, design digital pictures for art lessons, etc. All these activities helped me to jump outside the traditional classroom and learn more.

Todays, technology has profoundly changed education. For example, technology has greatly expanded access to education. Just one click, massive amounts of information including books, images, news and videos are all available. Students are easy to access to worldwide information and even communicate and collaborate with their teachers or classmates though online system (like us using fb to share our blog haha). We can see that technology has also begun to change the roles of teachers and learners. But what will be the future educational scenario with the use of technology?
